I've been filming weddings at Barr Mansion for well over ten years. It's a historic estate with big gardens just northeast of downtown Austin, and it keeps getting more beautiful every time I'm there.
The venue

Why Barr Mansion feels different
Barr Mansion is one of the prettiest places around Austin to have a wedding. It's a historic estate with sprawling, landscaped gardens, and it sits just northeast of downtown, about fifteen minutes from the Capitol. Your guests get a garden wedding without a long drive.
The team there has been perfecting the place for over 40 years. They cook organic, locally sourced food on site, run the bar, and staff the whole day, so couples get to relax. Their message is that all love is welcome, and I've seen them live it, wedding after wedding.
Will and McKenzie on Leap Day
The film at the top of this page is Will and McKenzie. They got married on February 29, 2020, a Leap Day, so their exact anniversary only shows up on the calendar once every four years. Their wedding took full advantage of the wonderful property, from the front porches of the mansion out to the gardens.
Every time I film at Barr Mansion I come away thinking it just keeps getting more beautiful. This was one of those days.
JoAnne and Stefanie, Suana and Nick, and more
JoAnne and Stefanie said their vows under a beautiful arch in the Farmstead, and their vows are some of the most moving I've ever filmed. DJ Nixx, one of the best DJs in Austin, kept the party going, and it went on and on. What a way to start 2020.
Suana and Nick celebrated with the white mansion and the gardens behind them. Brady and McKenzie had an all star team of vendors and one of the best wedding parties I've ever seen. Jordan and Keefe had an amazing candlelit reception and an officiant with the best officiant voice there ever was.
Filming your Barr Mansion wedding
Because I've filmed here for so long, I know the porches, the lawn, the gardens, and the reception spaces well. That means I can spend your day watching your people instead of figuring out where to stand.
