Same-sex weddings in Austin and the Hill Country

LGB wedding videography in Austin

Looking for an LGB wedding videographer in Austin, Texas? I'm Adam Grumbo. I'm based in Hutto, and I film same-sex weddings in Austin, the Texas Hill Country, and Central Texas. The cameras, the audio plan, and the packages are the same ones I use for every other couple.

Same-sex wedding films already on this site

I do not keep a separate look for LGB weddings. If you want to see how I film a same-sex wedding in Austin, watch the weekends that are already published.

Wenjane and Susie were married under the live oaks at Sacred Oaks, Camp Lucy, in Dripping Springs. JoAnne and Stefanie were married at Barr Mansion in Austin. Casey and Kristie were married at Pecan Springs Ranch, about 10 miles from downtown Austin. Patrick and Jake were married at Piney River Ranch near Vail, Colorado. That last one is a destination weekend, not a Central Texas day.

Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy, Dripping Springs

Wenjane and Susie married on the stone patio under the live oak canopy at Sacred Oaks, on the Camp Lucy property in Dripping Springs. One bride wore a lace gown and veil. One wore a navy tuxedo. The reception is in the timber hall on the same grounds. The blog post has the stills.

Barr Mansion in Austin

JoAnne and Stefanie's same-sex wedding at Barr Mansion is the Austin estate film. Barr Mansion is a historic estate just northeast of downtown. Their ceremony was in the Farmstead, under a floral arch, and the reception kept going. The watch page and the 2020 blog post are the same weekend.

Pecan Springs Ranch, near Austin

Casey and Kristie married at Pecan Springs Ranch, a garden venue about 10 miles from downtown Austin. I have filmed at that ranch many times. Their film is the published same-sex wedding there: personal details, a decorated reception, two brides.

Piney River Ranch, near Vail

Patrick and Jake married at Piney River Ranch on Piney Lake, near Vail, Colorado. Rain hit the ceremony. The vows moved inside. Two rainbows came up over the Gore Range after the storm. That is destination work from a studio based in Hutto, not a drive out to Dripping Springs.

Austin, the Hill Country, and Central Texas

I'm based in Hutto. Austin is where most weekends are filmed. Dripping Springs is a regular Hill Country drive, which is why Sacred Oaks is the film at the top of this page. Round Rock and Georgetown sit on the corridor north of Austin, the same direction as Hutto. If your venue is in Round Rock, Georgetown, or Hutto, send the name with the date. I will not invent a film in a town just to rank for it.

Other Austin and Hill Country venues I have filmed include Canyonwood Ridge, the Driskill, the Wildflower Center, the Terrace Club, Q2 Stadium, Ma Maison, and Vista West Ranch. Those pages name the couple. They are not same-sex films unless the page says so.

How the weekend is filmed

Most weekends are cinematic digital, with a plan for vow and toast audio. Super 8 and 16mm are real cameras and real film stock when you want grain. They are not a filter added later. Sarah's Super 8 day at Camp Lucy Vineyards is the Hill Country example of that kit. It is a different wedding from Wenjane and Susie's.

Tell me the date, the venue, and how you want the day described. Names, pronouns, who is walking, and any tradition that has to stay in the cut. I will not assume a bride and a groom, a first look, or a set order of events.

Packages are Joy, Choice, and Premier. Starting ranges are on the packages page. The about page is the short version of who shows up with the cameras. The contact page is where you send the date.

Questions

Do you film LGB and same-sex weddings in Austin?

Yes. Published Austin and Hill Country films include Wenjane and Susie at Sacred Oaks, Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, JoAnne and Stefanie at Barr Mansion in Austin, and Casey and Kristie at Pecan Springs Ranch near Austin. Patrick and Jake at Piney River Ranch near Vail is a destination film.

Is a same-sex wedding filmed differently from any other wedding?

No. Same cameras, same plan for vow and toast audio, same packages. Tell me the shape of your day and I will film that. I will not add a template that assumes a bride and a groom.

Which Austin and Hill Country venues already have a published same-sex film?

Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs, Barr Mansion in Austin, and Pecan Springs Ranch, about 10 miles from downtown Austin. I have filmed other Austin and Hill Country venues, and those pages name the couple. I will not relabel them.

Do you film in Dripping Springs, Round Rock, Georgetown, and Hutto?

I'm based in Hutto. Dripping Springs, Round Rock, Georgetown, and Austin are local drives, not destination trips. The published same-sex film in that area is Sacred Oaks at Camp Lucy in Dripping Springs. If your venue is in Round Rock, Georgetown, or Hutto and I have not published it, send the name with the date.

Can we add Super 8 or 16mm?

Yes, the same way any other couple can. Super 8 and 16mm are real film shot on real cameras, not a look applied in the edit. The method notes are on the Super 8 page. Tell me whether film is the main reel or a layer next to digital.

Do you travel for LGB weddings outside Central Texas?

Yes. Patrick and Jake at Piney River Ranch near Vail is the published same-sex destination film. Travel and lodging belong in the inquiry. If the weekend is not in Texas, start with the destination page and send the date.

Where are the packages, and how do we start?

Joy, Choice, and Premier are on the packages page, with the starting ranges. Send the date, the venue, and a note about the day through the contact page. The about page is who I am.

How should we tell you our names and how the day is structured?

Write the names and pronouns the way you want them said. If one of you wears a suit, if both of you wear gowns, or if someone else walks you in, say so. I follow that. I do not guess.
