Most couples walk down an aisle. Madeline and Brandon climbed. Their wedding in Ouray, Colorado started on the Via Ferrata, iron rungs and cables on a San Juan cliff, and ended at the top of Gold Mountain with no crowd, no parking lot, and a view that does not need a caption. This is an adventure elopement that still made room for dusty blue bridesmaids, a long reception table on a terrace, and a dance floor with glow sticks. The film is two minutes of that day, shot in 4K by an Austin based destination wedding filmmaker who will put a camera on a mountain if that is where you say the words.

The mountain that holds the whole day
They stand in a notch of evergreens. Brandon in a light grey three-piece suit and a reddish-orange tie. Madeline in a strapless white gown, train on the dirt, a bouquet of pink, peach, and white. The cliff behind them is pale and vertical. This is Ouray doing what it does: making two people look correctly small.

Then dinner before dinner. A long table on a terrace, vineyard chairs, bud vases of peach and coral, white tapers in glass chimneys, the San Juans gone blue in the distance. Gold Mountain is isolation with linens. You can have both.

From the air they are two bright marks on a ledge. The train spills over stone. A cable cuts the frame. This is the Via Ferrata wedding in one still. The climb is not a stunt. It is how they arrived at the yes.

The range does not need the couple in every frame. Forest, rock, and cloud sitting in the cuts. This is the mountain they climbed through.

The people who walked them there
Four dusty blue gowns, mixed necklines, pink and white bouquets, reddish boulders, a valley dropping away. They are laughing at each other, not at the camera. Destination wedding films often freeze people like statues in front of a view. This one lets the wedding party walk.

Night takes the stone pavers. A guest in sage green waves LED foam sticks. A custom neon of peaks and a wedding date glows behind pink roses. Ouray can be epic. It can also be a party. We film both.

In the trees he dips her. Train in the air, pink bouquet, dark pines, a bright strip of path. Adventure weddings still get to be romantic. That is not a contradiction. That is the point.
