Ten Mile Station Wedding Film in Breckenridge, Colorado

Caitlin and Matthew were married at Ten Mile Station, a lodge on Peak 9 in Breckenridge, Colorado. Hail hit the patio harder than a mountain weekend is supposed to take. Guests covered speakers with blankets. Then a rainbow stood on the range, and the day stopped reading as disaster.

Adam Grumbo Wedding Films is an Austin studio. Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio are regular drives, not special exceptions. A Breckenridge lodge weekend is destination work. Ten Mile Station does not care about your timeline. The film has to love the weather.

The banner is the payoff. Dark pines. A full rainbow on the range after the hail had done its work.

Before the weather wrote the plot, the assignment was two people. Lace, a black tuxedo, a veil, the forest soft behind them. An aisle with someone else is not the couple. This is.

The set was already finished. White chairs on stone. Hanging baskets. A sign that says Ten Mile Station, Breckenridge, Colorado. The boards were dry. You can still smell the storm coming.

Getting ready happened with the mountain in the glass. Caitlin in the lace gown. A bridesmaid in forest green satin on the floor at her hem. Close work a mountain film owes the people who hired it, not only the vista.

Then the sky turned. Pines in silhouette. A lid of gray. Hail is already in this frame even before it hits the roof.

They stood anyway. From the back of the house the couple is small and the range is the guest list. White chairs. An officiant in black. Cloud on the peaks. This is the ceremony the title promised, weather included.

Vows on the patio. The range in cloud. The couple small on purpose.

Inside, dinner was already a lodge. Gold chargers, dark green napkins, a runner of greenery, windows on the hill. A mountain reception does not need a ballroom when the table looks like this.

The hail did not stay in the clouds. It hit the eaves. Copper flashing. Dark wood. White streaks against the lodge. Detail is how a film remembers weather without a forecast graphic.

The vows still happened on that patio. Caitlin laughing. Matthew holding her hands. The officiant looking down. Tight enough that the mountain does not swallow the people.

On the ground the hail was a scramble. Shawls over heads. A speaker under a blanket. A floral dress still smiling. Fun belongs here because they stayed outside long enough to get hit.

Pull back from the lodge and the assignment is the land. Ski runs cut the forest. Cloud shadows on Peak 9. Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio stay on the calendar. Breckenridge is the destination version of the same brief. Arrive early. Learn the light. Let the mountain take half the frame.

The party is the people who rode up with them. Forest green satin. Black tuxedos. Caitlin and Matthew at the center of a Breckenridge field. Wide enough to keep the range. Close enough that you know they showed up.

Hands and paper do this work too. Invitations. Rings in a black box. Ten Mile Station, Breckenridge, Colorado in print. A film from Austin still has to land on the names.

Then get close at the table. Champagne. His arm around her. Both of them laughing. Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, or a lodge day in Breckenridge: the film still has to land on a face.

Another wide from the house. Bridesmaids in green. A mountain wall behind the vows. The first ceremony still was patio and cloud. This one is the scale of Colorado.

Bridesmaids, a mountain, two people at the front. Wide enough to keep Colorado.

The dance is one cut. Her head on his chest. The room gone dark around a tuxedo and lace. Tight so the peaks do not win every frame.

The ceremony had a bench of green satin too. Four bridesmaids, hands up, the vows landing. After hail, joy reads on the faces that stood through it.

Night in the lodge is a live band. Purple light. A singer who means it. Quiet good taste would be the wrong grade. The film stays in that volume.

Back at the head table a gold bow tie raises a glass. Candles. White roses. Caitlin and Matthew on their feet. After a hard hail, a toast gets to be loud.

They leave the way a mountain night is supposed to. Sparklers. A dip in front of the Ten Mile Station sign. Breckenridge, Colorado still on the building. The hail is gone. The party is not.

Look straight up and the lodge becomes pines against a dense Colorado star field. A band of Milky Way. Almost no light pollution. After hail, mountain air goes clear. Tent lights come on, then the sky takes over.

We welcome everyone. Straight couples, LGBTQ+ couples, interfaith families, a mountain weekend with hail and a rainbow: if you want a film that feels like the place you chose, we would be honored to make it.
