Ben and Hilah, Married at Antelope Trails Ranch in Jackson Hole

Antelope Trails Ranch sits in Jackson Hole with the Tetons as the wall of the property. Ben and Hilah were married here in a Jewish wedding built for guests, friends, and family: a cowhide aisle that runs to the river, mauve goblets under a sailcloth tent, and a forest walk in lace and a grey suit. The film is about 2 minutes 32 seconds of that Wyoming weekend.

Adam Grumbo Wedding Films is an Austin studio. Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio are regular work. Jackson Hole is the destination version of the same brief: a ranch, a river, and a ceremony that already looks like a film.

The banner is the walk beside the water. Hilah in long sleeve lace, Ben in light grey, the river and a haze of Teton peaks behind them. They look at each other, not at the lens.

Then the range itself, before anyone sits. Jagged peaks, leftover snow in the notches, a dense green forest filling the foreground. If you are considering a Jackson Hole wedding, this is the honest opening image.

The Jewish wedding happens under those peaks. From the back of the house you see guests, a cowhide runner, a log chuppah, and the Tetons standing over the vows. This is not a ranch that borrowed a ritual. The ritual came here on purpose.

Step closer to the site and the western materials take over. Dark benches in a curve. Layered cowhides down the aisle. Unpeeled logs for the chuppah. The river a hard blue line behind the florals. Crew still finishing the last fuss.

From the trees the same room reads empty. Benches, hides, the log frame, cottonwoods, that same blue water. This is the clearing before anyone walks.

The drone gives the map. A braided turquoise river, sandbars, a pocket of seating in a clearing, and two small figures on a pale path through the trees. The couple is not bigger than Jackson Hole. They are why you look at it.

Dinner lives under canvas. Dark farm tables, cross back chairs with thin white cushions, mauve water goblets, peach and rust centerpieces with greenery and small antlers, bistro lights waiting for evening. Antelope Trails is wilderness with a place setting.

After the river they walk. Crushed stone, dry grass on one side, cottonwoods on the other. Hilah in long sleeve lace and a deep V, a bouquet of orange, peach, and pink. Ben in a light grey three piece and a dark tie. Destination films often freeze people. This one lets them keep moving.

The forest walk lands in a clearing. They take the left of the frame. Pale trunks and tall grass take the rest. Burgundy and orange in the bouquet, filtered sun, a small crown of greenery in her hair. Quiet is the point of this beat.

The river path is the same walk with more valley in it. Wood chips underfoot, sandbars, the range gone soft. They hold hands and smile at each other. This is the still we used for the banner because it is the couple inside the land.

Then only the land. Dark conifers, a cyan sky, snow in the notches, no tent, no chairs. Jackson Hole will do this whenever a film needs a breath. We take the drone up because the valley asks for it.
